Reolum formalizes the award of the steam turbine for the biomass plant to Siemens Energy during a visit to its factory in Germany

The project management and construction teams from both companies are visiting Siemens Energy's factory in Germany to formalize an award process that began in February.

The equipment will generate 50 MWe and produce approximately 400 GWh of renewable electricity per year

Madrid, July 30, 2026. Reolum, a company that conceives, structures, develops and invests in industrial projects to promote decarbonization and accelerate the energy transition, The contract for the steam turbine unit for the La Robla Green biomass cogeneration plant has been awarded to Siemens Energy. The procurement process began in February and continues to progress in line with the development of the industrial complex located in La Robla (León).

The system will convert the steam generated by the biomass boiler into renewable electricity. The turbine will provide electrical power of 50 MWe, will operate approximately 8,000 hours per year and will generate around 400 GWh of renewable electricity per year, which will be used to supply the industrial complex.

With this award, Reolum incorporates Siemens Energy as a strategic technology partner for the project. Siemens Energy is a global energy technology company with a presence in more than 90 countries and operations across the entire energy value chain. Within the framework of this collaboration, The management and project construction teams from Reolum and Siemens Energy visited the company's factory in Germany, where the manufacturing of the equipment is coordinated, with the aim of finalizing the last technical and planning aspects related to its supply and integration in La Robla Green.

The selected solution has been specifically designed to meet the demands of complex industrial processes and stands out for its fast start-up times, reliability and high availability.

The awarded package includes a SST-800 Single Casing Reheat steam turbine, along with a generator SGen5-100A-2P 086-23 M07. The SST-800 is a single-casing steam turbine with a central steam inlet, specifically designed for direct coupling to a generator.

According to Yann Dumont, CEO and Vice Chairman of Reolum: “This award represents a new milestone in the development of La Robla Green and in defining the main equipment required for its operation. Bringing Siemens Energy onto the project allows us to work alongside a leading technology partner for one of the most critical installations at the biomass cogeneration plant. Our visit to their factory has served to strengthen technical coordination and define the next milestones that will ensure the successful integration of this equipment into the industrial complex.”

For their part, Emilio Delgado, sales manager at Siemens Energy, He pointed out: “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Reolum for the trust they have placed in our solution. The La Robla Green project requires technology that combines efficiency, reliability, and operational flexibility. Together with Reolum, we are working to integrate a steam turbine solution tailored to the plant's operational requirements and that will help ensure a reliable supply of renewable energy for the industrial complex.”

The selection of this team, along with the coordination of upcoming manufacturing and delivery milestones, This allows Reolum to continue advancing in the industrial implementation of La Robla Green, according to a schedule designed to ensure the correct integration of one of the key components of its biomass cogeneration plant.

About Reolum

Reolum conceives, develops, and invests in innovative industrial projects that drive decarbonization and accelerate the energy transition. Green e-methanol is one of the company's flagship products and represents a high-value decarbonization solution thanks to its versatility and sustainability. It can be used as a renewable fuel for maritime transport, as an intermediate in the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), or as a chemical raw material for manufacturing hundreds of everyday products.

Reolum's projects also present distinctive characteristics compared to other initiatives currently under development. These include the integration of biogenic CO₂ into the production of green e-methanol, either within the industrial complex itself or through a direct connection; the production of top-quality green e-methanol with an exceptionally low carbon footprint, with the potential to even achieve a negative carbon footprint at the source; and a structure of Project Finance which allows the participation of medium-sized companies, and not only large corporations, in capital-intensive hydrogen projects.

Furthermore, all of Reolum's projects generate significant social value in the territories where they are developed by leveraging underutilized rural resources and prioritizing Just Transition Zones, thus contributing to their adaptation to the new energy model. The company also maintains a strong commitment to talent and innovation, attracting top-tier technology providers, engineering firms, and construction companies that find in these projects an opportunity to develop new market capabilities through the learning curve in which Reolum continues to invest.

Founded in 2019 by Fernando Muñoz and Yann Dumont, Reolum has a multidisciplinary team of over 40 professionals with extensive experience in energy, biomass, sustainability, and finance. The company works to transform how energy is produced and consumed through economically viable and sustainable solutions.
