The Energy Newspaper. August 31, 2023 Reolum, Tresca Ingeniería and Incus Capital will invest almost 440 million in a double biomass project with CO2 capture and the largest green e-Methanol plant in Europe
The Leonese municipality of La Robla It has been known until now for its connection to the coal industry. But such are the ways of the energy transition: from 2026 onwards, it will be known for hosting the greenest energy project in Europe.
This project, called La Robla Green, It will comprise two large, state-of-the-art facilities: Roblum, the first green energy generation plant with a negative CO2 balance, or in other words, the first biomass plant with CO2 capture and storage in Europe, and La Robla New Energy, the largest green e-Methanol plant in Europe.
Reolum, Tresca Engineering and Incus Capital These are the three companies driving this initiative that seeks to revitalize this Just Transition area.
Roblum is the world's first green energy generation plant with a negative carbon balance. This is possible because the CO2 captured by the biomass offsets the CO2 generated at the facility. Furthermore, in the specific case of this plant, the CO2 produced during the biomass-to-energy conversion process is captured and stored for use in the production of green e-methanol.
